Why does faye kiss ed

Faye remarks that Ed has someone waiting for her too, and that she should go find him, as "belonging is the very best thing there is.

Spike and Jet locate Appledelhi near an inland lake, and promptly hold him at gunpoint. Appledelhi explains that he and his assistant are traveling Earth, making maps of the changed terrain. Bemused, Jet and Spike explain that new meteor strikes happen so frequently that to try and mark the constantly changing terrain would be an impossible task, before pointing their guns at him and demanding he come with them for the bounty. He holds them off suddenly by throwing eggs, gumming up their pistols, and then blocks Spike's hand-to-hand combat with deft ease until the Bebop suddenly crashes ashore, piloted by Ed with her remote control.

He then thanks the Bebop crew for looking out for his son or was that his daughter? Jet re-checks the bounty and discovers it was actually only 50 Woolongs, and that the bounty wasn't real. Appledelhi offers Ed the chance to come with him, but before she can answer another massive meteor crashes nearby. Appledelhi and Macintire rush off again. Faye lands near a steep path, where she has a flashback of herself as a young girl, running towards her home, as well as finally remembering the space shuttle accident of which she was the only survivor.

Following the path, the flashback comes to an end, and Faye sees the foundation of her former home On the Bebop , Ed hands a gloomy Spike a pinwheel. It's later revealed in the episode guide made by "Tokyo Pop" that the children at the orphanage were taught to leave the pinwheels to mark places that they have visited. Ed heads off into the sunset, her computer resting on her head as she walks.

Ein realizes she left and follows her, leaving Jet to peel hard-boiled eggs. Jet solemnly cooks all of Appledelhi's chicken eggs for dinner, his expression indicating he was annoyed that the bounty was a sham but grateful that they at least have something to eat as a small reward.

When he calls out that dinner is ready and notices that no one is in the lounge area, he discovers Spike smoking a cigarette while contemplatively looking out onto the landing deck, where the words "Bye Bye", along with Ed's signature hacking smiley, are drawn in orange paint.

Faye makes enemies everywhere she goes and therefore clashes with everyone she meets. Or perhaps Ein!? However, Whitney is just a con man, garnering the favor of vulnerable women and leaving them saddled with debt. Two things are made apparent in this encounter. Firstly, since Faye woke from her cryogenic sleep without any memory of her past, her deepest affections and strongest yearnings were rooted in the need to find a place she could belong.

At the outset, Whitney seemed to provide that, even if it was an elaborate lie. Secondly, when Faye finally gets the whole truth out of Whitney, it liberates her. The family dynamic of The Bebop crew is one of the many elements that make Cowboy Bebop such a special series.

Friends and lovers are chosen. Family however, whether by blood or circumstance, are hoisted upon the unsuspecting, bonds forged in fire.

Spike and Faye are like unruly teens, quite old enough to exercise their independence, but bound to their home. Because of this, Faye can come and go as she pleases, and when things get a bit too tough out on her own, she knows she has a bed to return to.

Is Spike Spiegel dead? Does Faye Valentine love Spike? How did Spike Spiegel lose his eye? Is Jet from Cowboy Bebop Black? How did Jet Black lose his arm? Is Ed a girl Cowboy Bebop? Why is it called jet black? How much is jet worth? What Colour is jet black? Is jet black darker than black? What color can I dye my black hair without bleaching? What color is best for black hair? Is black hair actually black? Can someone have purple eyes? The other — probably more likely — is that they realized that the audience would be more likely to accept the image as a projection of some kind if it had recognizable signs of image decay.

I first recall the Patlabor movies using it and remember thinking at the time that it was a nifty device. There is an in-universe explanation for poor radio and hologram quality as well, at least by the Rebel Alliance, to do with concealing identity from the Empire, which is ironically rather parallel to the real reason of concealing other give-aways….

She really is a weird kid. But as to why she would choose THAT method? It is a mystery. You went exactly where I did with the idea of a surrogate family. Once you get this point, it gives a very different perspective that colors the rest of the series up to this point, especially regarding Faye. Just like that, she insinuates herself into the family, dysfunctional as it is. Earlier her complaining made her look like a spoiled bitch, but looking back, it appears more like familial banter, and her tiffs with Spike can seem more like a sibling rivalry with a bit of sexual tension.

The writers do a great job showing the crew growing as a family while the series progresses without overtly demonstrating it. And this episode is damned well done. Just like the scene with the eggs at the end-there are simply no words, so just stuff your face while you can. So the gate explodes, the moon gets a chunk taken out of it, and life changes. Debris rains down on the Earth. Cities are devastated, cultures and records are lost, including who Faye was, pre-accident.
